FIRST ANNUAL KETTLE CUP!!! The Kettle Cup exhibition match will pit the "Lady Lasers" and "Laser Lads" tennis teams against one another. The match will be held May 23rd, starting at 5pm at Three Pillars Tennis Complex at Kettle Moraine High School. We will play a dual, similar to how we would in-season, where the 1st singles play each other, 2nd singles, etc. etc. We will not have a 4th doubles match, but I would love it if all players could come out and support their teams and cheer everyone on! The plan is for the teams to play their matches, with the winners raising the Kettle Cup, a perpetual trophy that will exist year after year, played between the girls team and the boys team. Also, we will have a photographer there (thanks @Michelle Kujawski) to capture all of the wonderful moments. I ask that players wear their official uniforms (girls - please see me at any boys practice to retrieve yours) during the matches in order to really show #KMNation pride. Look for more media and any announcements regarding fundraising to come. I'm asking all of you to please: save the date and spread the word!

NATIONAL HISTORY DAY INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION WINNERS AND FUNDRAISER!!! Three Kettle Moraine students were named state champions at Saturday’s National History Day (NHD) competition held at UW–Madison. They will now advance to the national contest in June, where they will present their research alongside students from across the U.S. and around the world. Recently, the NHD program experienced unexpected financial challenges due to cancelled grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. This means schools must fundraise to participate in the valuable academic competition. You can contribute on Classmunity at https://www.classmunity.com/kmsd/view-fundraiser.php?fundraiser_id=2764. Sixth graders Cecilia H. and Reagan H. earned top honors for their website, Balancing Individual Rights and Shared Responsibilities in a Democratic Society, which explored the history of Social Security. HS^2 junior Emma Manion won first place for her individual performance titled, Ada Deer: Rights and Responsibilities in the Pursuit of Restoration of the Menominee Indian Tribe. Each year, approximately 500,000 students participate in NHD, including 10,000 from Wisconsin. This achievement is a tremendous honor for both the students and the Kettle Moraine School District. The cost for each student to attend the national event—held at the University of Maryland’s College Park campus—is significant. Registration is approximately $165, with lodging and meals totaling around $606. Travel expenses add another $600 per student.

DECA IN ORLANDO!!! Kettle Moraine DECA had the opportunity to send six students to the DECA International Career Development Conference 2025 who qualified for the conference by being amongst the top few competitors in their event areas at the State Conference in February. The International Conference was hosted in Orlando, Florida this year and took place from April 26 - 29, 2025. Overall, over 25,000 DECA students from all over the world attended the International Conference this year. The Kettle Moraine students who competed at the DECA International Conference were: Alyssa Foote and Madeline Ewald - Business Solutions Project, Elizabeth Lephardt and Savanna Kildow - Marketing Management Team, Hunter Phillips - Innovation Plan, Malachi Beyerlein - Entrepreneurship Series. With the help of Mr. Dellis, who has been the KM DECA Advisor for the past 26 years, the students completed lots of preparation for their events. Hunter Phillips was recognized as a finalist for her Innovation Plan (ranked in the top 20 out of 190 competitors within her event), and all of the other KM DECA students competed their best at their events. Students also had the opportunity to enjoy the nearby attractions, including Disney World and Universal Orlando, during their free time at the conference. It was a great opportunity for KM DECA students to learn valuable business skills, meet other DECA members from all over the world, be recognized for their achievements, and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND TOURS KM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS!!! Cast members from the KMHS Campus Spring Production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland dogged raindrops to visit Cushing, Dousman, and Magee Elementary Schools Thursday May 1. The day before, Wales campus students attended a similar performance at the KM Prism Arts Center. There were lots of smiling faces from the high school performers and younger students in the audience as they experienced the production. The performers answered many questions about how costumes are made, how long it takes to put together a production, and who from the cast attended each school. Come see the full production with complete costumes and set pieces this weekend! Performances are May 2 & 3 @ 7pm, and Sunday May 4 @ 2 pm. Run time is approximately 80 minutes including intermission. Tickets available at the door or in advance at kmdrama.ludus.com.
